End of the road for Masai giraffe

nation.co.ke
Did KWS really shoot the giraffe?

A male Maasai giraffe with a broken right foreleg lies by the side of Nairobi-Magadi road, Friday January 28, 2011. ADAM WITHEY, a traveller who took the photographs, believes it was hit by a vehicle earlier that morning. He says the incident took place just before Ol Tepesi, about 2 or 3 kilometres from the National Museums of Kenya's Olorgesaille prehistoric site. The matter was reported to Kenya Wildlife Service, he adds, and to various other conservation groups. While returning to Magadi the following day he stopped at Ol Tepesi and was informed that the KWS had arrived later that day and the giraffe had been shot and dragged away.
